Feedvisor’s "On Sale" feature allows you to set discounted sale prices for specific items within a defined time period.
During the sale period (defined by start/end date and time), the included listings will display a pre-discount list price/MSRP, the discounted sale price (e.g. "Sale"), and the associated savings to the consumer.
There are two main advantages to utilizing the On Sale feature:
- Sale pricing is more appealing to customers and could be a great way to increase the conversion rate of your products (increasing sales)
- Feedvisor allows you to choose a different repricing method (such as Fixed Price or Target Velocity) that will be applied only during the on-sale period
How to set up an item ‘on sale’?
* Please make sure to activate the Sale Price feature for your listing in your Seller Central Account
- Set a List Price (MSRP)
- In scenarios where the list price is not specified, the ceiling price will function as the ‘List Price (MSRP)
- We recommend setting the list price (MSRP) value according to Amazon policy on references prices.
- In the event that the list price (MSRP) value is set below the ceiling price, and the repricer wants to set a price higher than the list price (MSRP), the repricer will automatically revert to the ceiling price (and use that as the list price/MSRP) so as to avoid a negative discount being displayed.
- Select Start date (starting at 00:01 UTC)
- Select End date (last on sale price at 23:00 UTC)
- Optional - define a specific Start hour and End hour in UTC (If no Start and End hour are defined, the default start time will be 00:00 UTC and 23:00 UTC respectively).
- Select Repricing Method for the On-sale period - Buy Box optimization, Fixed price, Target Velocity or liquidation.
Important!
During the On Sale period, the chosen On Sale Repricing Method will override the ‘non-sale’ or normal repricing method. Only the repricing method selected under the "Sale price" drop-down menu will be taken into account during the On Sale period.
If you are unsure which method to use, please reach out to your success manager.
Once you have completed these steps above and saved the configurations, the On Sale feature will be activated based on the Start Date (and on the hour if defined) you selected. The listing page will display pricing in the following format:
List Price - The MSRP or non-sale price.
This value is static and will be displayed with a strikethrough to indicate it is not the actual purchase price of the item
Price - This is the price the algorithm sets according to the repricing method chosen in the Sale drop-down menu.
-
When the repricing method is ‘Buy Box Optimization’, ‘Target Velocity’ or ‘Liquidation’, the price movements will be within the defined floor and ceiling range.
* If the ‘Fixed Price’ method is chosen, the ‘sale’ price will be static.
You Save - The calculation of the difference between the sale price set by the repricer, and the predefined List Price (MSRP)
